Background

A little about me

I like understanding things in context—how a place became what it is, what shaped someone’s thinking, or how the pieces of a complicated problem fit together.

My background is in engineering and business. I studied engineering at Oregon State University and later earned my MBA at UCLA Anderson. Today, I work in product management.

Outside work, my interests take me toward books, travel, fitness, and the arts. I enjoy having different ways to spend my time and different things to think about.

Outside work

Reading and ideasI read across history, business, literature, and long-form writing. I’m drawn to books and essays that help me understand a person, a place, or a problem more clearly.

Travel and historyUnderstanding what happened somewhere changes how I experience it. I enjoy trips that leave me with a better sense of a place and how it became what it is.

Staying activeFitness gives me structure and helps me clear my head. I appreciate showing up, doing the work, and seeing progress over time.

Music, theater, and being thereI enjoy live music, theater, and experiences connected to a place. I appreciate seeing people practice their craft in person.
